October 2019 Volunteer of the Month
Darren King-Edmonds October 2019 Volunteer of the Month
Darren King-Edmonds is a youth volunteer of the month for October 2019. He joined the USO Fort Drum team as a minor volunteer in September 2019 as it was a graduation requirement to volunteer 20 hours, issued by his high school. However, once he completed his 20 hours, he liked volunteering so much that he continued on. He is a hardworking young man with now over 100 volunteer service hours. He not only has helped us in the center but also with many of our special events such as Trunk or Treat and Superbowl Party. His knowledge of gaming and electronics have proven very helpful in our center. He has helped us to update our video game systems as well as make audio corrections to some of our components in our multipurpose room.
Darren is originally from Killeen Texas but moved to Fort Drum in 2018 with his parents, because his father is an Active Duty soldier. He will be a 2020 graduate of Carthage High School and has plans of attending a technical college to study information technology. His hobbies include video gaming, photography, video editing, and graphic arts.
